| Here are a few of the great cartoonists we met at this year's Pittsburgh Comicon ...

 |
| This is as close as McPedro the talking cactus would let me get to the illustrious Danielle Corsetto, creator of GirlsWithSlingshots and creative talent behind The New Adventures of Bat Boy, a family-friendly comic published in the Weekly World News. Look for my guest strip on GirlsWithSlingshots on Thursday, May 10. |

| D.J. Coffman (the guy who's not wearing the KilljoyComics shirt) pens the scathingly funny Yirmumah, but he has recently gained yet more notoriety as the 2006 winner of Platinum Studios' Comic Book Challenge with his foray into the almost postmodernist superhero title Hero By Night. I bought a limited printing of issue one, and as soon as I read it, immediately regretted not picking up the rest. But then I knew I would, so I only have myself to blame. |

| These are the cool guys behind the highly entertaining webcomics group Digital Pimp. I didn't know they were going to be there, so, completely blindsided, didn't praise their comics half as much as they deserve. A genuinely great bunch of guys. From left to right: Phil Chan who co-writes Matriculated and commentaries; me; Joe Dunn of Joe Loves Crappy Movies; and Irv Fabor of Fish Tank Tango. All brilliant strips; check 'em out! |

| Here I am with Pat Lewis (left) of Lunchbreak Comics, whose cartooning mastery makes me think maybe I should become a WalMart greeter; and Ed Piskor, illustrious (no pun intended) co-illustrator of Harvey Pekar's American Splendor and, more recently, for his collaboration with Pekar on the graphic novel Macedonia. |

| Here I'm standing beside Jamie Hatton of the ingenious In His Likeness and his charming girlfriend Danielle. And yes, that head in the lower left hand corner belongs to none other than Bill Ellis of fan favorite comic Silver Rage. His first words to us were, "Yes, before you ask, Silver Rage is coming back." So fear not, Silver Rage will return. |

| Photo Forthcoming: Jason Yungbluth of Deep Fried! |
| Jason Yungbluth of Deep Fried has cartooned for Mad Magazine, which makes every artist at KilljoyComics want to be him. But the favorite for Doc and Todd was Jason's superhero-eske lampoons of classic Sunday funnies characters, like Weapon Brown, in which an adult Chuck Brown exorcises his childhood demons through violence. In Jason's words, Weapon Brown is "a walking engine of wishy-washy destruction, and one thing's for sure: you don't want to call him 'blockhead'." |
